Comment – YouTube to buy sport broadcasting rights?

Reports today that Google owned website YouTube is planning to become the “home of live sports broadcasting” will no doubt garner some interest from frustrated fans. It seems that after buying the rights to show IPL cricket talks are in process to secure NBA and NHL broadcasting rights, along with some European football leagues.

If this plan succeeds it could result in free sports broadcasting (albeit combined with heavy advertising) across the world, a welcome relief for those paying high subscription fees to watch games on TV.
